Golden Hour on the Course

Why the last light of the day is the best time for a relaxed round, and how to make the most of it.

As the afternoon heat breaks, the course takes on a different character. Shadows stretch across the fairways, the breeze settles, and the light turns everything the colour of warm sand.

This is a second test post for the new blog template, written so the blog index and the Keep Reading section have more than one story to show. Learn more about golf at Palmilla Beach.

Why play late

An evening tee time trades the midday sun for cooler air and quieter fairways. It is an easy way to fit a round into a beach day without giving up the morning on the sand.

  • Book ahead: the last tee times of the day go quickly.
  • Bring a layer for the back nine as the breeze picks up off the water.
  • Keep an eye on the sky and plan to finish before dark.
