A Slow Morning at Palmilla Beach

An easy first morning on the island: a walk along the water, coffee in the shade and nothing on the calendar until noon.

There is a particular hour on the Texas coast when the Gulf goes glassy and the dunes turn the colour of honey. At Palmilla Beach it arrives a little after sunrise, and the best way to meet it is on foot, coffee in hand, with nowhere in particular to be.

This is test content for the new blog template. It uses every common block so the layout can be reviewed before real stories are written. Start with a walk down to the beach and leave the plans for later.

Start at the water’s edge

Early mornings are the quietest time on the sand. Look for shorebirds working the wet sand at the waterline, and for pelicans skimming the swells in tight formation just beyond the break.

  • Bring a light layer: the breeze off the Gulf is cooler than you expect before eight.
  • Pack water and sunscreen, even on overcast mornings.
  • Leave the itinerary in the room and let the morning set the pace.

The best mornings here start slowly and end somewhere near the water.

Breakfast worth the walk back

After the beach, drift back toward the resort pools or find a table at one of the places to eat on property. The patio fills quickly once the sun clears the dunes.
